Taxis in Sarajevo are cheap, metered and everywhere — find them at ranks (outside the airport, around Baščaršija, Markale and the stations), hail one on the street, or order by phone, Viber or WhatsApp. Three regulated associations run most of the fleet and are reliable; just make sure the meter is on rather than agreeing a flat fare.
Spot a legit taxi: a licensed Sarajevo taxi carries a registration plate beginning with “TA”, plus a roof sign and a working meter. Steer clear of unmarked cars touting for fares, especially at the airport and the bus station.
