oštroglava gušterica · Dalmatolacerta oxycephala
A flat, agile lizard endemic to the Dinaric karst, darting across sun-baked rock and old walls in Herzegovina — often strikingly dark, sometimes with a blue-grey sheen.
Identification & best seen
Very flattened head and body for squeezing into rock cracks; dark, often blue-tinged.
Habitat & where to see
Bare karst rock, cliffs and dry-stone walls in the south.
Its flattened skull lets it vanish into a hairline crack the instant a shadow passes.
